Twilight Tuesday

Last weekend Twi-Whore and I went to Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. It was really interesting to see all the history of the area, and how the natives herded the buffalo off of the cliff.

For the longest time now I always thought buffalo were extinct, (I still do), even though people are constantly telling me they aren’t. I have yet to see a real live buffalo in my *cough* 30 *cough* years, so I choose to believe they’re not real.

That got me to thinking, what about vampires? With all the lore out there saying they were real, and not just myth, does that mean they were once real as well? And if they were once real, could they still be real, and out there somewhere? Could an Edward or Jasper, or even a *gasp* James, exist?

Would there be “good” vampires like the Cullens out there, or would they all be blood thirsty demons, like most vampire lore makes them out to be? What if they really did sparkle? What if they didn’t have fangs, and had venom instead of blood in their veins?

What if not only vampires existed but the Quileute legends were true and they turned into wolves? What if there’s this whole magical world out there that we don’t know exists?

I bet, if there is one, it has buffalo.

Twilight Tuesday

Mostly Spoiler Free

I was going to talk mainly about Eclipse today, even though I already did a bit the other day, but decided instead to talk about Jackson. Oh how I love him. He comes in an extremely close second, only to The Precious.

Thursday afternoon Twi-Whore and I went to see The Last Airbender. It actually looked really good, and Jackson was one of the main characters, so it had to be a win/win situation. Right? Right. Happily, we both really liked it despite the bad reviews it recieved.

It was really nice to see Jackson with cute hair, a bit of humor, and acting nothing like a blood thirsty vampire. I know he’s been in other movies, but they’re a bitch to find, and it was nice to see that he can actually act!

Then we saw Eclipse again on Saturday. The second time was just as good if not better, because it gives you time to notice little things you didn’t notice the first time around, like how all the eyes are dark at one point, and Alice’s yellow Porsche outside of Bella’s house. Little things like that.

I think I swooned everytime I saw Jackson on screen. And in his Confederate uniform! Ome he was hot! If you can get past the fugly hair, and horrid eye color, he’s just so yummy! I even really like the southern accent he’s put on for it.

I really hope he’s going to be in more films with bigger roles, because I definitely think he could have a large following. I know I would be on the Jackson bandwagon. I mean really? How could you not be?

No Words, Just Awe

There just aren’t words to describe how very much I loved Eclipse. I went in thinking it was just going to make me angry and disappointed, but surprisingly, I was neither.

It was fast paced, and they put in parts that I really wanted to see, and left some out that were small enough that it didn’t make a difference.

There wasn’t a whole lot of Mike or Jessica, which was nice, the acting was better again, and it didn’t change the way I felt about the characters as opposed to the book again.

I loved the fact that Jasper was in it a whole lot more than he previously had been, and quite a large speaking role. His southern accent was delicious and his awful hair wasn’t quite as bad as it looked in pictures. (It really was awful though) Plus he looked amazing in a Confederate Army uniform.

I can not wait to see it again. And again. And again!

Twilight Tuesday

Three weeks has come and gone and Twi-Whore is finally home from her trek around South America. Unfortunately Fortunately she didn’t come across any of the Libishomen while she was there, but she did make the 4 day hike up to Machu Picchu, and that’s more than I could say for myself if I would have gone. Personally I would have taken the train and saved myself a lot of aches and pains, not to mention a possible heart failure from over exertion. Like the good Twi-Whore she is, Edward,of course, went along for the journey and seemed to enjoy himself. (Pictures to come later.)

Sunday evening we went on a date to see Iron Man 2, and were pleasantly surprised to see a preview of The Last Airbender. Of course we squeed when Jackson was on-screen, he’s just so delicious! After the movie we went for dessert and drinks at Moxies, and ended up staying till they closed while I filled her in on gossip, she told me about her trip and we, of course, talked Twilight.

Yesterday she came over to catch up on Vampire Diaries and watch Oprah that I saved for her, and today we’re finally getting to see The Runaways, I still can’t believe it took till May for it to come here.

It’s so nice to have her home again. I’m looking forward to morning texts and Twilight talks. Welcome back Twi-Whore!

Twilight Tuesday

After I read and watched New Moon again, and started Eclipse I began wondering if it was silly of me to be worried about not having the same feeling with the movie, as I get from the book. The chemistry between Bella and Jacob is so believable in the book and I really wonder if it’ll come across the same in the movie. What worries me most is because Eclipse is my favourite book in the series, I’m bound to be disappointed in the film version. It happens all the time. Especially because they can’t fit every thing into a two-hour time slot.

There are certain parts that I really would like to see left in, that I think add to the feel of the story, like the leg hitch, which, because I’m a big dirty whore, I know is in it. I’d really like to see the scene in class where Edward and Bella have a discussion about if the plane to Phoenix went down, what he would do to save them. It’s witty, and funny, and some good humor relief. Also the part where Bella punches Jacob and breaks her hand, the sex talk with Charlie and the ride to graduation with Edward in the back of Charlie’s police cruiser. I seriously laughed out loud when I read those parts.

Over all, as long as it’s better than Twilight was, and just as good as New Moon, it should be ok. I mean really what’s the worst that can happen? They give Jasper an even uglier wig? Oh wait, that’s already been done.

Things I Love Thursday

  • Road trips with Twi-Whore and the boys.
  • Being able to totally geek out and not caring what others think.
  • A favourite guilty pleasure remade and brought to the big screen.
  • True Blood.
  • Finding that someone new to cut my hair isn’t as scary as I thought.
  • Updates!
  • The ending to Tropic of Gemini. Such a good story.
  • Sitting outside in the sun, reading a beloved series. Again.

Twilight Tuesday

As I said before, Twi-Whore and I went on a little road trip the other day. We took along our Mini Edwards and my Mini Jasper to make the day a bit more fun. Of course that called for multiple photo ops. Here’s a collection of some of the places we went with them.
